Monarch Teaching Technologies Inc. Receives First Investment from the
Health-Tech Corridor Investment and Attraction Fund

The Health-Tech Corridor Investment and Attraction Fund made its first investment in Monarch Teaching Technologies, the creator of special education software Vizzle.  The $250k investment will allow Monarch to strengthen its sales and marketing infrastructure to help accelerate the company’s growth.  The company will be moving into the Baker Electric Building in the Health-Tech Corridor this spring.  For more information about the Health-Tech Corridor Fund click here

NEO IoT Academic Collaborative to hold a Symposium in May
Earlier this year The Cleveland Foundation announced a grant to Cleveland State University and Case Western Reserve University as part of its Digital Excellence Initiative.  The  goal of the grant is build an academic collaborative that will grow research and education opportunities at the universities in the emerging field called the Internet of Things (IoT).  A symposium will be held on May 5th to discuss the progress of the initiative and hear from key leaders both locally and nationally who will provide short and long-term views on the future of R&D in the IoT.  Sign up to attend this free event here
Ohio Third Frontier Awards Cleveland State and Kent State Grant to Start Joint Commercialization Fund

The new $800,000 fund will help faculty teams commercialize their research and connect with business partners.  The program, which will be called the TeCK Fund, will provide up to $100,000 for individual technology validation projects.  The fund aims to accelerate the process for licensing technology while spurring technology transfer partnerships with companies across the state.
