Six teams were awarded $100k in cash prizes at the 2nd annual Medical Capital Innovation Competition.  The competition, divided into professional and collegiate fields, focused on innovative solutions utilizing big data, artificial intelligence, and enhanced reality to improve health care.  While teams from Houston, Anaheim, and Toronto took home the top prizes in the professional field, student teams from CWRU took the top two spots in the collegiate division.  The first place team, RADIOME, received a $6,000 cash prize while the 2nd place team, InSpirit, received $3,000.  In addition to cash prizes all teams also receive mentoring and access to Cleveland Healthcare experts.
With Spring Here, Take Advantage of the HTC’s Alternative Transportation Options
With the winter freeze coming to an end now is the time to mix up your commute!  One of the best parts of being located in the HTC is having access to one of the most transit rich hubs in Ohio with extensive bus, train, and bike infrastructure.  RTAserves the corridor with the Healthline and Red Line providing quick connections between University Circle, Cleveland Clinic, MidTown, and Downtown.  Bike Commuters benefit from the HTC’s bike lanes and UH Bikes bike share system.  HTC and MidTown are partnering to sponsor a hub at the MidTown Tech hive for Bike to Work Day on May 18th.  To plan your commutes and track your trips, utilize NOACA’s free Gohio Commute tool.
