University Hospitals Opens Rainbow Center for Women and Children 
University Hospitals opened its doors to patients on Monday, July 9, after hosting a high-energy ribbon-cutting ceremony and community block party on Friday, June 29. Donors and New Markets Tax Credits funded the $26 million project. The center will host a pediatric and prenatal care outpatient services along with wraparound dental clinic, WIC offices, Legal Aid, nutritional education, and centering pregnancy programs.
HIMSS Seeks Tech Solutions for Infant Mortality Crisis Through New Partnership and Developer Challenge
HIMSS is partnering with and The Cleveland Foundation’s CTL+ALT+CLE Program to host Battle for Our Babies: Seeking Tech Solutions to Reduce Infant Mortality on August 24 at the HIMSS Innovation & Conference Center. The Summit will feature presentations and conversations with key stakeholders, including leadership from Cleveland-area organizations whose missions focus on reducing infant mortality. In September, attendees of the Summit will issue a formal challenge to the developer community for a $10K first prize for the top tech solutions that will address causes of high infant mortality (i.e. maternal stress, infant sleep behaviors, premature births, structural racism, and lack of support).
