Cleveland Clinic

Cleveland Clinic is consistently ranked as one of the nation’s top hospital systems in all specialty areas. Its Miller Family Heart & Vascular Institute heart program has been ranked number one in American for 15 years in a row and its departments of urology, rheumatology and gastrointestinal disorders all rank among America’s top two. Cleveland Clinic’s main hospital campus occupies 166 acres and 50 buildings in the Cleveland Health-Tech Corridor. The institution has 3.3 million total patient visits and over 73,000 surgical cases annually. Patients visit the Cleveland Clinic from across the U.S. and 80 nations. The Cleveland Clinic employs more than 40,000 professionals throughout its system.

 


University Hospitals

University Hospitals, one of the nation’s leading health care systems, focuses on providing compassionate, quality medical care to patients at convenient locations throughout Northeast Ohio. Its flagship medical center in the Cleveland Health-Tech Corridor, University Hospitals Case Medical Center, is the primary teaching affiliate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Together, UH Case Medical Center and CWRU School of Medicine form the largest biomedical research center in Ohio. A brand new, free-standing Cancer Hospital is under construction and will join its nationally ranked hospitals, UH Case Medical Center, UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and UH MacDonald Women’s Hospital on the main campus. With nearly 30,000 employees, University Hospitals is one of the top five private sector employers in Ohio.
 



Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center

Located in the Cleveland Health-Tech Corridor, The Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center is the fifth-largest in the country, with about 100,000 visitors a year. It is a teaching hospital with full-service patient care, and houses two research centers of excellence in Functional Electronic Simulation and Advanced Platform Technology. It also sponsors well-funded research and development programs in biomedical research, health services research, clinical and cooperative studies, and rehabilitation research. The VA Medical Center is in the midst of a major facility expansion in the corridor.



 



St. Vincent’s Charity Medical Center

St. Vincent’s Charity Medical Center is a 480-bed, full-service inpatient and outpatient health care center in the Cleveland Health-Tech Corridor, dedicated to its mission of providing high-quality, Catholic health care for more than 144 years. HealthGrades awarded it the Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence for five consecutive years (2006-2010). This distinction places St. Vincent Charity Medical Center among the top 5% of hospitals nationwide for quality. Additionally, in 2009 the Medical Center received the Premier Award for Quality, which placed it in the top 1% nationally. St. Vincent Charity Medical Center ranks among the top 5 in Ohio for spine surgery and achieved 5-star ratings in both Spine Surgery and Back and Neck Surgery.

 



Case Western Reserve University

Case Western Reserve University, ranked as one of the top private research universities in the nation, receives nearly $400 million in external awards for research each year. Located on 155 acres in the Corridor, Case generates a $1 billion impact on the region’s economy. The university supports nearly 100 world-class research centers and academic programs provided by 2,600 faculty members to nearly 10,000 students. Case Western counts 15 Nobel laureates—including the first American scientist to ever receive the prize—among its alumni and current and former faculty.



 
Cleveland State University

Cleveland State University (CSU) is a metropolitan university that provides a rich environment for engaged learning in an exciting and dynamic location in the Cleveland Health-Tech Corridor. CSU’s campus consists of more than 85 acres with 40-plus buildings used for teaching, research, housing, administration, and recreation. CSU’s $500+ million campus mater plan is creating a vibrant living and learning community in the heart of Cleveland’s Health-Tech Corridor. CSU’s 1,750+ faculty and staff serve more than 16,000 students in 1000 courses for 200 major fields of undergraduate and graduate study. CSU collaborates with the Cleveland Clinic in educational and research programs in molecular medicine to help improve early detection of disease; and leads a state-wide partnership to create the Wright Center for Senor Systems on it's Health-Tech Corridor campus, a “one-stop shop” for companies working on integrating sensor systems into their products.
 


Cuyahoga Community College

Cuyahoga Community College offers more than 1,000 credit courses in more than 140 career, certificate and university transfer programs. Located in the Cleveland Health-Tech Corridor, the College’s Metro Campus offers state-of-the-art health careers labs, is home to the nationally-renowned Tri-C JazzFest Cleveland and features industry-standard learning laboratories in programs such as Recording Arts and Technology, Hospitality Management and Electronic/Electrical Engineering. Adjacent to the Metro Campus is the Unified Technologies Center, offering both non-credit and credit training for individuals and businesses.
